Vanessa Johnson

Vanessa JohnsonVanessa L. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Legal Studies at the University of Houston – Clear Lake’s College of Business. Vanessa earned a Master of Laws in Health Law, a Master of Laws in Tax Law, and Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center. She is also a Master of Business Administration graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business, and she earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.

A licensed attorney and former human resources professional, her diversity experience and interests have included participating as a Consortium for the Graduate Study of Management Fellow and a Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO) Fellow, teaching a Diversity Management course at the University of Houston – Downtown’s School of Business, and publishing articles about diversity and inclusion legal issues.

A native of the Houston metropolitan area, she is also a graduate of Leadership Houston’s Class XXIX and the United Way of Greater Houston’s Project Blueprint Class XXVII and has served on the Boards of Builders of Hope CDC, Avenue CDC, Fifth Ward Enrichment Program, the Bridge Builder Charity Foundation, and Unlimited Visions Aftercare.
